  • Torrington (CT) denies Lyman Hall another trip to the final - NEW HAVEN — It was Williams who hit the game-winning shot Wednesday night to lead the Torrington boys’ basketball team into the Class L state championship game. Except it’s not the Williams you are probably thinking of. Desmond Williams, Jordan’s younger brother, swished a turnaround 18-foot jump shot with 1.2 seconds left to lift No. 10 seed Torrington to a 39-38 win over No. 6 Lyman Hall at the New Haven Athletic Center. Lyman Hall was looking to make its second straight appearance in the finals. - Read full article from New Haven Register
  • Lyman Hall shuts down Hand - Lyman Hall boys’ basketball coach Mike Conner makes no apologies for being a defensive-minded, and when his team executes like it did Monday night in the quarterfinals of the Class L state tournament, the numbers — specifically the low numbers on the scoreboard for the opponents — don’t lie. - Read full article from New Haven Register
  • Sheehan knocks off Lyman Hall in SCC quarterfinals - Sheehan is known primarily for its stellar guards who run one of the more intriguing offenses to watch in the Southern Connecticut Conference. On Saturday, it was a stellar defensive performance, especially in the fourth quarter, that led the Titans to their first berth in the SCC boys’ basketball tournament semifinals in nine seasons. Sheehan put the defensive clamps on Lyman Hall to win 46-37 in the quarterfinals at East Haven. No. 7 seed Sheehan (16-6) held No. 2 Lyman Hall (17-4) to just six points in the final quarter and 14 in the second half. Not only was it the first game of the tournament where the lower seed prevailed, it also continued a trend that occurred in three of Saturday’s quarterfinals: a team beating its opponent for the third time this season. - Read full article from New Haven Register
  • Titans (CT) top Trojans in overtime - Justin Kuntz had 17 points and Phil Gaetano 14 to lead the Sheehan boys’ basketball team to a 65-54 overtime win over host Lyman Hall Tuesday in a Southern Connecticut Conference Housatonic Division matchup in Wallingford. - Read full article from New Haven Register
