  • Connecticut Hoops Championship is Academic - UNCASVILLE, Conn. - The FCIAC and SWC were shut out in the Connecticut State basketball championships this season, with the Fairfield-Warde girls’ team earning the only bid to the finals for either conference. The State boys’ and girls’ basketball championships were held over two days at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville. The Mustangs entered the championship game with a 26-0 record and the No. 1 seed, but the Hillhouse Academics were again giant-killers as they defeated Warde, 65-59, ending yet another long winning streak. - Read full article from MaxPreps.com
  • Final Courant (CT) Girls Basketball Ratings - Hillhouse- New Haven finished on top of the final Courant state ratings after beating three undefeated teams en route to the Class L championship, its first since 2005. The Academics, seeded seventh in the class, knocked off Kolbe Cathedral- Bridgeport, Avon and Fairfield Warde in handing coach Catrina Hawley-Stewart her third title in six years.
