  • Final Courant (CT) Girls Basketball Ratings - Hillhouse- New Haven finished on top of the final Courant state ratings after beating three undefeated teams en route to the Class L championship, its first since 2005. The Academics, seeded seventh in the class, knocked off Kolbe Cathedral- Bridgeport, Avon and Fairfield Warde in handing coach Catrina Hawley-Stewart her third title in six years.   • CT Girls Basketball: Avon Falls Short Against Hillhouse - MIDDLETOWN — - Before Monday night, Lindsay Horbatuck had made one three-pointer this season. When she hit three in the third quarter of the Class L semifinal against Hillhouse, Avon had reason to believe anything was possible. Down 16 at one point, Avon rallied to tie the score with a minute left. "I know we're good," said Waters, whose team completed its first 20-0 season with a 62-38 victory over Morgan-Clinton Wednesday. "But there are times we have come out flat.   • Windsor (CT) Duo Among State McDonald's Nominees - Windsor's Adrian Satchell and Steven Samuels and New Britain's Symone Roberts are among 20 state boys and girls basketball players nominated for the McDonald's All American Teams on Thursday.
