  • Girls basketball Division III (RI): It takes two overtimes, but Central Falls fulfills its dream - SOUTH KINGSTOWN –– Having once experienced it himself as a member of the Central Falls boys basketball team that won the 1987 Class C Championship, Warriors girls basketball coach Joe Handy wanted nothing more than to see his players experience for themselves the thrill of not only making it to the title game, but also going home with the championship trophy.   • Central Falls and Moses Brown (RI) set for rematch - Central Falls, which has not won a championship since 1987, and Moses Brown, which beat Central Falls for the title last year, will play for the Credit Union Division III Boys Basketball Championship Saturday at the Ryan Center. The Warriors showed few ill effects from not having played since Feb. 27 and ran all over Mount St. Charles for a 74-60 triumph before an enthusiastic partisan crowd in the semifinals Tuesday night at CCRI’s Vincent A. Cullen Field House. The victory was the 19th in a row for Central Falls, which last lost on Dec. 16 to Mount St. Charles.   • Central Falls (RI) girls beat Hope to claim regular-season title - As fate would have it, Central Falls and Hope –– the top two teams in Division III girls basketball –– wrapped up their regular season in a head-to-head game for first place. Tied at 45 apiece with less than a minute left, CF’s Valerie Biascochea was fouled on a 3-point attempt and made two of three from the line to give the Warriors a 47-45 victory and the title.
