  • Jeff Caron, Durfee AD and coach, leaving for Dartmouth High - Jeffrey Caron, Director of Athletics and varsity basketball coach at Durfee High School for the last three years, has been hired as the Director of Athletics at Dartmouth High School, Caron, a 1994 graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School, was hired Friday. In addition to serving as Director of Athletics for Dartmouth High School, the Fall River resident will be the town's Director of Health and Physical Education for grades K-12. While the New Bedford girls basketball team battled Durfee to the wire and beyond, Whalers' sophomore Allysa Roach and Durfee's Kate McDonald waged their own private battle.   • Dartmouth (MA) upsets Durfee in OT victory - In an overtime thriller, the Dartmouth girls' basketball team defeated Durfee, 77-76, thanks to some clutch performances from its young players. With Dartmouth trailing by two with the clock winding down in the fourth, freshman Kathryn Hiller pulled down an offensive rebound, went back up with the shot and was fouled with 0.4 seconds remaining.
