  • Kolbe ends Stratford's streak in SWC quarterfinals - At halftime, Kolbe Cathedral looked like a thoroughly defeated basketball team. By game's end, the Cougars had scripted yet another wild chapter to their storied rivalry with Stratford. Dominique Langston and Ronnie Underwood scored 26 points apiece as Kolbe Cathedral came back from 18 points down to topple the defending league champions in overtime, 82-81, in the SWC quarterfinals Saturday at Weston. • Stratford (CT) extends win streak to 32 - STRATFORD -- In his pre-game speech complimenting all of the seniors on this year's team, Stratford coach Paul Dudzinski called sixth-man Jacob Jean-Baptiste a great athlete who does all the little things asked of him. "He's the X-factor for us," Dudzinski said. Given a chance to start with the rest of his senior teammates in a huge Senior Night game against rival Kolbe Cathedral, Jean-Baptiste didn't play like an X-factor. - Read full article from Connecticut Post

  • Stratford picking up where they left off last year - As the defending Class M and SWC champion, Stratford has been playing this season with what coach Paul Dudzinski said "is a big 'X' on our back." So far, that hasn't stopped the Red Devils. Despite graduating eight seniors from last year's unexpected title run, Stratford remains unbeaten at 9-0. Its win streak is now a robust 22 straight dating back to an overtime loss to Barlow almost a year ago. Dudzinski is pleased, but still cautious as his team enters the meat of its SWC schedule. - Read full article from Connecticut Post
