It was 2003, and Brittany Obi-Tabot was entering the sixth grade at Watertown Middle School. She was reluctant to take on the game of basketball, really wanted nothing to do with it.
"She didn't like it,'' Lougbo said. "I had to push her. I said, ‘You have long legs, long arms, long hands; you have to use them.' ''
Recalling those days, Obi-Tabot, now a senior at Watertown High, cannot help but laugh.
"I just hated it, but my mom wanted me to play,'' Obi-Tabot said. "She said I was going to be tall.''
