It didn’t take long for Louisville to move on after Fab Melo committed to Syracuse. Wednesday afternoon the Cardinals called up one of the Top 100 prospects in the Class of 2010 and made an offer.

Rod Odom, a skilled 6-foot-8, 200-pound forward from Concord (Mass.) Middlesex School, picked up an offer from Louisville on Wednesday, according to the prospects father, Rod Odom, Sr.

“(Louisville assistant) Steve (Masiello) just called and said their interest in Rod is very high,” said Odom, Sr. “Coach Pitino saw him in July and he said he loved what he saw and they think Rod can be a superstar in their system because of his skill set and high motor. They think he fits perfectly in their system.”

Rated the No. 25 small forward prospect in the Class of 2010 by Scout.com, Odom told InsideTheVille.com he was excited to learn about Louisville’s scholarship offer.

“I’m definitely, definitely really excited about it,” Odom said. “It’s definitely a great opportunity, a great coach and a great program. I’m definitely very excited about it. I just heard about it actually.”

Louisville, Boston College, Michigan, Arizona, Harvard and UConn comprise Odom’s list. Odom said Louisville’s offer has definitely moved the Cardinals to the front of the pack.
