NEBA Super Exposure Event

July 3, 2012 Terrence Payne

Mount Ida College was the site of the Super Exposure Event put on by the New England Basketball Association (NEBA).

The weekend event was broken down in two different groups, middle schoolers on Saturday, while Sunday featured some high school talent.

Two days after Elite75, NEBA hosted around 40 high school players, many that showed there skills throughout the afternoon.

Stanley Winn (East Boston/LOX) - Strong showing the entire day. Showed great point guard skills. He was patient and rarely forced anything and he also attacked the lane with nice acceleration. Looked best in the fast break; knew when to keep it and when to dish it. Showed good form on the jump shot and pressured the ball well.

Omar Oriolles (Charlestown/LOX) - Confident wing player. He was tough to stop when he got into the lane and didn't shy away from contact. He was able to finish above the rim several times during full-court games. Found his jumper in the afternoon session, adding to a solid overall offensive game.

Marcus Faison (Cambridge Rindge and Latin/Middlesex Magic) - One of the only true post players in attendance. At 6-foot-5 had a wide frame and was a tough rebounder. Very physical in the post. The southpaw was crafty in the post, able to face up and score.

William March (East Boston/LOX) - Played a little wing and a little post. Ran the floor well, was a good rebounder. He was explosive to the rim, both to score and rebound. He was able to spread the floor and step out to the perimeter.

Steve Carangelo (Rivers/Evolution) - Overall good player. He's a wing, who guarded point guards and went down low to rebound. Found through a few injuries it appeared, but showed a nice shooting touch.

Rohan Shukla (Roxbury Latin/Boston Warriors) - Like Carangelo, was an all-around team player. Did everything well and blended into his team well during the scrimmages. Rebounded, defended, scored when needed to.

Matt Locke (Rivers/Stars) - Only a ninth-grader, showed good potential. Falls into the category of team players like above. Hit some mid-range jumpers and had some nice athleticism.

Justin Leip (Rivers/Stars) - One of the youngest and smallest players in the high school age group, he showed nice, deep shooting touch. The ninth-grader also had nice handles and kept his head up and made lead passes that led to scores.

Celio Araujo (Genesis/Metro) - Another point guard who looked good on Sunday. He had good handles and penetrated well. Also provided some nice on the ball defense.
