Providence, R.I. -- After a great career at New London High School, Torin Childs-Harris opted for a post grad year at St. Thomas More as a way to gain more exposure.

So far, the extra year has paid dividends for the 6-foot-3 guard. His head coach, Jere Quinn, praises his consistency this season and refers to him as "the sixth starter."

Over a handful of Division I programs have shown interest in the combo guard. Dayton, College of Charleston, Hofstra, Cincinnati, Clemson, and Quinnipiac have all shown interest in him, though he has not yet gone on a recruiting trip.

However, he said he is excited to see the College of Charleston's campus and plans to visit soon.

Childs-Harris said he has been working on his ballhandling, as he expects he could be asked to play point guard at the next level.

The New London native credits his improvements to his additonal season and to his St. Thomas More coaching staff.

Jere Quinn on Childs-Harris:

"He's a scorer and he scores in bunches and he does a nice job on the offensive and defensive end rebounding. What Torin does is he brings a lot of energy and he's a hard practicing kid. He needs to work on his ballhandling and his off the ball defense."
