Friday afternoon New Hampton takes on St. John's Northwestern Military Academy as part of day two of the 2012 National Prep School Invitational held at Rhode Island College.
One player that has the potential to emerge as a star out of this showcase is New Hampton's sphomore forward Noah Vonleh. Just last week, Vonleh jumped from No. 6 to No. 4 in ESPN's recruiting rankings.
Vonleh has a world of talents. He's strong and athletic. For a guy 6-foot-7 he has great handles. When he's at the rim he finishes hard. Defensively, he is long enough and quick enough to block a lot of shots.
Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Kansas, Boston College, Arizona, North Carolina, Maryland are just some of the teams already interested in him. Although many more teams should join the Vonleh sweepstakes before he next season.
New Hampton and SJNWMA play at noon Friday afternoon. New Hampton also takes on Spain's Carinas Basketball Academy Saturday at 6 p.m.
