Falzon commits to Sacred Heart

October 27, 2011 New England Hoop News Staff

Sacred Heart has had a knack for recruiting under the radar players who go on to have solid college careers and play a vital role in their success.  This has been especially true lately as the Pioneers have put together especially competitive teams from 2006-2009.  They've made a living in New England, especially Connecticut, and they're hoping that strategy continues to pay off with their most recent commitment.

Tevin Falzon has given head coach Dave Bike and the Sacred Heart Pioneers a verbal commitment, according to AAU coach, Mo Vasquez.  Falzon is a 6'7 forward that currently is a post-graduate at the Winchendon School in Massachusetts, after graduating from Newton North last spring after playing four years for head coach, Paul Connelly.

Injured much of last year, Falzon took advantage of a successful spring and summer playing with Metro Boston and Mo Vasquez.  He is the third Metro player to commit to a Division I school in the last 10 days following Jesse Chuku (Lehigh) and Dimitry Coronel (Maine).

Falzon has solid skills for a player his size as he can face up from the 3-point line and also do some damage down low.  He is a very skilled passer and is not afraid to mix it up on the glass. His skills should allow him to be a tough match-up in the Northeast Conference.

Falzon and Sacred Heart hope that their success with guys like Shane Gibson, Corey Hassan and Stanford Dulaire holds true to form with this commitment.
