Another New England players has made a commitment this spring, and this was one has the potential to be a steal. Georges Niang has committed to become a member of the Iowa State Cycones basketball program, according to BABC program director, Leo Papile.
"Niang made the call today. (Fred) Hoiberg just outworked everyone in recruiting him. It's a great fit. His recruitment has really skyrocketed lately, but he felt comfortable with the school and staff at Iowa State," said Papile.
Niang also told The Recruit Scoop, "I felt like it was the right to commit. Coach Hoiberg is a great guy."
Not only has the power forward come along strongly over the last year, but his best basketball as ahead of him. At 6'7, Niang continue to improve at a consistent rate and is an extremely hard worker. He is a throwback post player with great hands, footwork, and touch around the rim. An improving outside shot, developing body, and warrior mentality make Niang an outstanding get for the Cyclones.
He chose Iowa State over strong interest from Miami, Maryland, Colorado, Iowa, Texas A&M, and a host of others. Niang's recruitment finally caught up to his success and abilities on the court, and we wish him the best of luck.
